The brayer, rubber roller, is used to apply and easily roll off the chalk, textile or food colors on the stamp. It distributes the colors evenly without absorbing them.

At the same time, it helps to smooth decoupage paper and tissue paper when sticking it on furniture.

If you stamp with ink , then use an empty stamp pad , soak it with ink and press it onto the stamp surface. You don't necessarily need the rubber roller for this.
